Sewing Knits: Toaster Sweater // 1 Day // March 7
It's getting cold outside, but we're staying toasty with the Toaster Sweater, a popular sewing pattern for knits that's a stylish spin on a sweatshirt. This project whips up in ONE DAY and is a great building block for your handmade wardrobe.
Workshop project: Participants will create the Toaster Sweater, a pattern by Sew House Seven with two style options.
Version 1 is a closer fitting, semi-cropped sweatshirt/sweater with raglan sleeves, a wide waistband, loose turtleneck, long cuffs and hits between the high and low hip.
Version 2 is somewhat fitted through the shoulders and sleeves and swings out at the underarms. It features a semi-high-neck in a funnel style, and has mitered side vents with a subtle hi-lo hem.
- Working with a digital pattern

- Cutting knits accurately with a rotary cutter and mat
- Sewing with stretch stitches on a regular sewing machine or a serger
- Attaching turtlenecks, cuffs and bands (version 1)
- Neck facings and mitered hems (version 2)
