Sewing 201: Jackets & Robes // 4 Weeks // Starts Apr 7

Sew along with us in this four week workshop to create an impressive jacket or robe that nobody will believe your made yourself! Choose from one of four pattern options with inclusive sizing, gender expression and multiple silhouette variations within each pattern. We'll teach you the tips and tricks to making functional handmade outerwear look professionally finished. The patterns featured are great whether you're a newbie to garment-making or have a little experience under your belt but want to tackle a new category of garment. 

Pattern Options:

Helen's Closet Pona Jacket (Two length options. Sizes 0-30.)

Friday Ilford Jacket (Unisex. Long view only or short view without sleeve plackets. Sizes XS to 7X.)

Closet Core Veronik (Two length options. Sizes 0-32.)

Merchant & Mills Sunday Robe (Unisex. Sizes XS-XXL) 

Techniques learned:
- Outerwear seam finishes including bias bound seams 
- Shawl collars, notched collars & traditional collars
- Sleeve insertion
- Patch pockets
- Cuffs, hems & buttonholes

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate. You should feel comfortable using a sewing machine and sewing straight lines at an accurate seam allowance. It's okay if you're new to sewing garments and have only taken our Sewing 101 class or have equivalent experience. 

4 weeks; 12 workshop hours

Pattern and materials not included. An instructor will send the supply list ahead of time so you know what to bring the first day. You will need to bring all your fabric cut out by the second class. If you bring your fabric to the first class, you may cut in class.
