Threads of Memory: Grief & Lavender Sachets // 1 Day // Dec 5
Threads of Memory: Grief & Sewing
Some things are too precious to sit in a closet. In this 2.5 hour workshop, you'll transform a loved one's textile (a shirt, scarf, or dress) into a fragrant lavender sachet: something small and lasting to hold onto. We're teaming up with Keriah Coaching (@griefcoachsarah) for an afternoon that's equal parts sewing lesson and gathering space. You'll learn basic hand and machine stitching, have an opportunity to share why the fabric you brought matters, and be in community with other creative grievers. Second hand clothing and textiles will be provided for folks who want to honor memory but do not have an item from their person to use. Perfect for first-time sewists.
Materials Needed: Please bring one textile (a shirt, scarf, dress, etc.) you'd like to turn into a lavender sachet.
No sewing experience is needed!
