Sewing 201: Pants // 4 Weeks // Starts Aug 9 or Sept 3
It's an age-old Home Ec philosophy that pajama pants are the best garment sewing project for beginners. Sure, we get it. But we want to elevate that idea and introduce you to more refined (but still beginner-friendly) techniques that result in a pair of pants you can wear out in the world while still looking sharp.
Join us for Sewing 201: Pants Edition! Learn the ins and outs of garment-making using woven fabric and a professional pattern, and walk away in a pair of tapered or wide-leg trousers with unique waistband and pocket details. Pattern options available for women & men up to a 61.5" hip size.
- Reading size charts, grading sizes
- Cutting woven fabric on grain, understanding pattern markings
- Finishing seams
- Sewing curves
- Slant and/or patch pockets
- Darts (Fremantle pattern only)
- Waistband facing & partial elastic waistband (Pietra pattern) or full elastic waistband with drawstring (Fremantle)
